Westport Memorial Services & Parade

“Honoring Women Veterans” will be the theme of the 2022 parade which begins at 9:00 on Memorial Day (Monday, May 30, 2022). The route begins on Riverside Avenue, continues east on Post Road, to Myrtle Avenue, Main Street and ending at Parker Harding Plaza.    

Immediately following the Parade, memorial services will be held on Veterans’ Green.

 

Memorial Day Weekend in Weston 

5K Road Race and Walk (May 28, 2022) | Fair (May 27-30, 2022) | Parade & Ceremony (May 30, 2022)

Weston Memorial Day Weekend Fair along with 5K Road Race and Walk fills the town with music, decorations, and delicious food. The fair takes place near Hurlbutt Elementary School and features lots of entertainment: games, rides, and kids' activities. "Red, White & Blues" free concert featuring local musicians is part of the scheduled entertainment.

Veterans are invited for breakfast before the parade at the library or a grab-and-go lunch after. Memorial Ceremony will take place at the Weston Town Hall Gazebo after the parade (~11:30).

 

Fairfield’s Parade, Picnic & Concert

The town parade begins at 10am on Memorial Day, marching East from South Pine Creek Road along the Post Road to the Library, then South along Old Post Road to Flint’s Corner, and then East along Old Post Road passing the Town Green and continuing beyond South Benson Road.

Stop by the Fairfield Museum after the Town Parade for the annual Memorial Day Picnic. Bring your family and friends for a fun-filled afternoon with live music from the Connecticut Symphonic Winds Quartet, a three-legged race, a watermelon eating contest, crafts, games, and much more. The Fairfield Museum is a proud member of Blue Star Museums, a program that offers free admission to museums for all active duty, National Guard and Reserve military personnel and their families from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Memorial Day Parade in Norwalk (May 30, 2022)

The Norwalk Memorial Day Parade takes place on Monday. The ceremony starts at Veterans Park in East Norwalk, then the parade heads east on Van Zant Street, turns north on East Avenue and finishes at the Norwalk Green. Don't forget to bring a blanket for a picnic! Visit the website devoted to honoring veterans from Norwalk, Connecticut who made the ultimate sacrifice during wartime service.

Memorial Day Parade, Downtown Rowayton (Sunday, May 29, 2022)

Choose a favorite spot along McKinley Street or Rowayton Avenue to cheer on veterans, firefighters, police officers, local little league players, nursery schools, and more as the Rowayton parade kicks off at noon! This is a time honored tradition that finishes at Veteran’s Canon to honor those who died serving our country. Don't forget to save room for hotdogs at the Rowayton Fire Department following the parade!

Wilton’s traditional Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony

The parade will start at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 30. and make its way through Wilton Center to Old Ridgefield Rd., and continue up Ridgefield Rd. to Hillside Cemetery.
