Realtor Life — Downtime during COVID

The KMS team has met several times this summer for a socially-distant cocktail at Compo beach. Although typically just two or three days after our weekly team meeting on Zoom, we spend a bit of time catching each other up on business... Then, we dive into the fun stuff — Does anyone go out to eat? Yes! But it seems many of us also enjoy picking up food from our favorite restaurants and eating at home. Here, in no particular order are the mentions from a recent summer’s eve:

“We have rediscovered Westfair Fish & Chips and love it.”

Lobster Craft in Fairfield - the Lobster BLT was perfect with a glass of Sancerre.”

“Takeaway pizza from Fairfield’s Frank Pepe reheated on the grill is amazing alongside of a huge Caesar salad.”

Tequila Revolution in Fairfield has great Mexican food, made with fresh ingredients. Wonderful spicy Margaritas too!”

Molto on Post Road in Fairfield is still a favorite go-to for great pizza, pasta and salads.”

“Love the eclectic menu choices, tequila drink options and the overall outdoor vibe at the new Don Memo.”

Rive Bistro has an expanded outdoor patio scene on the Saugatuck River. It is a lovely setting for al fresco dining….and the escargot & moules frites are pretty good, too!”

The Spotted Horse continues to be a Westport go-to for us. They have something for everyone on the menu and we always know we're going to have a good meal when we go there. When you have small children and have to plan your date nights.. it's important to know what you're going to get!”

The conversation turns to post-dinner…what to watch? It seems with production studios on hold, everyone is looking for a new show to watch! The variety, even for this team of pretty diverse people, is amazing.

“We love most British TV. All [seven seasons] of Endeavor is fantastic [crime]. Last Tango in Halifax [comedy-drama, 5 seasons] was terrific.”

“Just watched Schitt's Creek [Canadian sitcom, six seasons] and thought it actually improved as it went on. Clever and endearing - interesting commentary on society norms.”

Ozarks! [crime drama, 3 seasons] Loved it! Evil people!”

Morning Show [drama, first season]: great acting. Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston and Steve Carrel”

Offspring!” [Australian Comedy-Drama, seven seasons]

“I love British crime dramas....Luther, Marcella, Broad Church...my current viewing is Scott & Bailey... 2 women investigators working together to solve murder cases in Greater Manchester - I love getting lost in the scenery, culture and the lives of these characters.“

Selling Sunset...In our business, you need comic relief. Selling Real Estate in CA is very different than in CT and this summer-time, binge-worthy show is addicting! Season 3 just released.”

Disjointed [two seasons]”

The Last Kingdom [four seasons] - I love historical fiction stories & series that are filled with action & a great story line. I also love mysteries [crime drama, 3 seasons] like Broadchurch - a BBC detective series about a murder in a small seaside tourist village.”

Bonus Family on Netflix. It's an understated Swedish comedy [3 seasons] about the complexities of the modern family. Because there are subtitles it forces us to turn off our devices and really pay attention when we watch it which means we enjoy the humor so much more.”

We also love the pop-up drive-ins at Lachat Farm in Weston and Remarkable Theater (Imperial Parking Lot) in Westport but long for such things as evening concerts at The Levitt Pavilion or Weston Historical Society. But as the say in baseball, there’s always next year!
